Plastic packaging endangering human health and quality!

Zeytindostu Association continues its struggle with imitation and adulteration in olive oil by raising awareness of consumers on quality olive oil. In this context, the experts of the association, which organizes Olive Oil Awareness and Tasting Training in the Aegean Region Chamber of Industry (EBSO), informed the participants about the correct harvesting and production techniques, the health benefits of olive oil, and olive oil tasting.

Zeytindostu Association Chairman of the Board Dr. Fügen Durlu Özkaya said that those who endanger human health by producing and placing fraudulent products should be dealt with, such as prison or heavy economic sanctions.

Board Member Pharmacist Atilla Totoş noted that olive oil dissolves plastic and noted that such packages pose a danger.

Zeytindostu Association informed the participants about the quality processes from olive oil production to the end consumer in the Olive Oil Awareness and Tasting Training held at EBSO.

Zeytindostu Association Chairman of the Board Dr. Fügen Özkaya and Board Members Atilla Totoş and Dr. Dilşen Oktay, responsible for education activities, held training sessions aiming to increase the awareness of consumers and producers about quality olive oil, olive oil tasting was also practiced.

Participants who tasted many samples, including flawed and quality award-winning flawless olive oils, also learned about the sensory features of defective and flawless oils.
