While the competition between Denizli's Serinhisar district and Çorum regarding chickpeas and also between Gaziantep and Kahramanmaraş started about the patent of red pepper proceeds, Şanlıurfa has started to blame Gaziantep for sharing pistachios unfairly! Recently Gaziantep Metropolitan Mayor Fatma Şahin introduced the red pepper as the products of Nurdağı and Islahiye districts' products during the 2. International Gastronomy Festival that has highly disturbed natives of Kahramanmaraş province of which identifies itself with red pepper. Now that Şanlıurfa Mayor Zeynel Abidin Beyazgül has set forth that pistachios are grown the most in their province, while igniting a new crisis between Gaziantep. Beyazgül said, "The main homeland of pistachios is Şanlıurfa. Essentially pistachios come from the Tektek Mountains. They are really ripe and nice. The authentic Urfa pictachios are known as ketene pistachio which are riper. All around of Urfa is full of pistachio trees...
