Turkish Guild of Agricultural Journalists (TGAJ) organized another international event in Antalya after last year's Middle East Agricultural Journalists Forum held in Istanbul. The Antalya Forum, convened with 35 colleagues from 22 countries, took four days between 04 - 08 November and highlighted the key points of agricultural journalism both abroad and in Turkey. Owen Roberts, President of IFAJ and Hugh Maynard, General Manager of IFAJ also participated in the event. An international symposium held by FAO and WHO took place in Elazığ province of Turkey... Turkey's success with trans fat stamped on the symposium... The issue of eliminating trans fats that is on the agenda of the world was discussed in a large-scale organization in Elazığ. The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the World Health Organization (WHO), held an international symposium within the scope of 16 October World Food Day. Pointing out that Turkey's transformation began in 2007, Culinary Products and Margarine Industrialists Association (MÜMSAD) General Coordinator Ebru Akdağ said that Turkey captured the target in 2007 which put forward by the World Health Organization for the removal of trans fat until 2023. PER CAPITA YEARLY FISH CONSUMPTION RISES IN TURKEY...

Turkey's fishery production slightly lower in 2018... Per capita average yearly fish consumption rises to 6.14 kg, official data show... Turkey's fishery production dropped 0.3 per cent year-on-year, falling to 628,631 tons in 2018, the country's statistical authority said Wednesday. "The total fishery production was composed of sea fish by 35.3 per cent other sea products by 9.9 per cent inland water products by 4.8 per cent and aquaculture products by 50 per cent," TurkStat said in a statement. TurkStat data also showed that per capita average fish consumption in Turkey rose 11.8 per cent from the previous year to reach 6.14 kg (13.5 pounds).
