Hen egg output in Turkey decreased 2.8% on a yearly basis to 1.7 billion units in March, the country's statistical authority (TÜİK) reported on Tuesday.

The country's chicken meat production rose 9.3% to reach 191,629 tons in the month, TurkStat said.

Turkey's meat production also increased 17.2% year-on-year in March, while the number of slaughtered chickens rose 10.5%.

The statistical authority will release the next poultry production report on June 11.
