In the provinces where hazelnuts are produced in the Eastern Black Sea Region, the button was pressed for the production of coal from hazelnut shells used as local fuel. Mayor of Ordu Metropolitan Municipality Mehmet Hilmi Güler started feasibility studies for the production of activated carbon from coal.
