HAZELNUT SHELLS TURN INTO ACTIVATED CARBON IN ORDU PROVINCE...


In the provinces where hazelnuts are produced in the Eastern Black Sea Region, the button was pressed for the production of coal from hazelnut shells used as local fuel. 

Mayor of Ordu Metropolitan Municipality Mehmet Hilmi Güler started feasibility studies for the production of activated carbon from coal.

Güler instructed to start feasibility studies for the production of activated carbon from hazelnut shells. 

Güler, stressing that as well as the inside of nuts, its shells also worth value, "In this context, we rolled up the sleeves for the production of activated carbon from hazelnut shell. Feasibility studies started. We aim to improve our work by progressing in a practical way" he said.

Stating that they will be in a different understanding of municipality as Ordu Metropolitan Administration and give priority to investments for economy and employment, Mayor Güler noted, "The economy of our province is based on hazelnuts. Half of the hazelnut used in different products consists of shell. Now we have started feasibility studies to benefit from the shell of this gold product too. When the production is carried out after various studies, the value of the hazelnut will be much increased."

Activated carbon which is used in many fields today, is obtained by activating the carbons obtained from wood, peat, lignite, charcoal, charcoal, bone, coconut husk, rice husk, hazelnut husk and oil products through various processes...

  1. I think it is a very important step to make use of hazelnut shells to obtain a spongy structured carbon mass to be used for the water and polluted air purification applications because of its extremely high surface area versus volume ratio. Best Luck
