TİKA supports beekeeping in Albania...

400 hives were distributed to beekeepers in Debre, western Albania, by the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA).

TİKA Tirana Coordinator Necip Özay Özütok, Debre Governor Necbedin Sheu and Debre Beekeepers Association attended the ceremony for the distribution of beehives.

Özütok, in his speech here, said that they support the development of Albania with projects, from education to health, agriculture and animal husbandry.

Özütok noted that they have also implemented projects in many areas in Albania.

Stating that they aim to improve apiculture in the region thanks to this project, "Not only distributing the beehives along with other equipments but we have a plan to set up a new facility for packaging and bee cake production."

Debra Governor Necbedin Shehu, also stressing that Turkey has always been generous to Albania and Debar, thanked TİKA.

Aslan Cani, former President of Debre Beekeepers Association, who has contributed from the beginning of the project, explained that Debre and its environs have significant potential in the field of beekeeping.

Within the scope of the project, 40 members of Debre Beekeepers Association provided hive, special clothing and equipment support.
