Eroğlu underlined that VAT should be reduced as the first step in order to reopen the export of eggs and that it has been done, "I had talked with the Iraqi administration on egg export in July. But the parliament brought a ban on imports including our country especially for the purpose of encouraging domestic production. But now the egg is going from other countries, but it is 3 times expensive. We all aware of it. Afterwards Ambassador Hasan Jannabi who is also my counterpart and my old friend, gave us some recommendations. We determined what to do in Istanbul Chamber of Industry and Commerce. Producers, traders and industrialists and stock exchanges are working together. I hope we will do this (we will realize the export of eggs to Iraq)," he noted.

Stating that VAT was required to drop and a decree for wholesalers came down to 1 percent, Eroğlu added, "Now the second step is to export to other countries. We also held a meeting with egg producers and they took a decision in the parliament to open egg exports to Iraq. We invite both the current Minister of Agriculture and the deputies. Hopefully we will find solutions with them. Iraqi businessmen and our businessmen there are a number of studies in order to establish a facility. Iraqi authorities looked positive to this point."
