"Women's Workshop in Agriculture for Sustainable Development" was organized on 12-13 June by İzmir Provincial Directorate of Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. On the first day of the workshop, four separate tables were identified as headings on the efficient use of women's power in rural areas; Assessments were made on strengthening the capacity of rural women, increasing women's employment in rural areas and strengthening entrepreneurship, sustainability and women in agriculture, women's co-operatives in rural areas, financial problems and social security.
Dr. Ebru Tong, Secretary General of The Chamber of Veterinary Surgeons İzmir Branch, expressed her views on behalf of their Chamber at the first table where the title of "Strengthening the Capacity of Rural Women" was discussed.
This workshop was arranged by women farmers, representatives of professional organizations, faculty members and representatives of relevant institutions and organizations of the sector.
On the second day of the workshop, the final declaration was presented by the İzmir Commercial Exchange Advisor to the President. Pınar Nacak's presentation was shared with the participants. The outcomes of the workshop were evaluated; İzmir Deputy Governor Mustafa Yıldız, Head of Education Publication Department İsa Sertkaya, Head of Education Department Aysel Asıl, Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry Musa Musa, Ege University Vice Rector Canan Fisun Abay and the İzmir Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry staff...
