CHP (Republican People's Party) İzmir Deputy Prof. Dr. Kamil Okyay Sındır spoke at the 3rd Ordinary General Assembly of Mahmut Türkmenoğlu Cooperative Foundation and emphasized the importance of making cooperative and expanding it sustainable. Sındır said that cooperative system is a social phenomenon and solidarity essentially.

Sındır started his speech by expressing that Mahmut Türkmenoğlu left a deep impression in the field of cooperatives. "He used to represent brotherhood and friendship. He was a person who first internalized and then reflected on his whole life these beliefs. Our beloved Mahmut Türkmenoğlu here once again we respectfully remember. It's a great chance to be at the general assembly of a foundation that bears his name. Cooperative is not only a union of economic interests from production, but also a social phenomenon and solidarity lies at its core, he taught us that," Sındır noted.

Continuing his words by saying that the form of organization in which solidarity is at the highest level is cooperatives.

Sındır concluded, "We are going over what is required to be done legally in order to overcome the structural and administrative problems of the cooperatives in our country. Today's general assembly will shed light on us in this sense. Here, we will bring the basic and practical problems of the cooperatives we have put to the table. We will continue our struggle to pave the way for production, women, energy, agriculture and cooperatives in all fields. Because cooperative system is one of the most important institutions that survive against capitalism and sovereign capital. If we live and make cooperatives sustainable; We take an important step in the development of our country, in overcoming economic difficulties and in the solution of employment problems. We contribute to the healthy life of democratic life. The understanding that attaches importance to nature and environment; we contribute to the survival of local values ​​and cultures. The mindset that looks at the co-operative squint keeps individual interests above social interests. We will not give way to this understanding. Those who produce and share fairly will lead us to reach equitable Turkey. This vision will hold a very important place in our cooperatives to reach the dream.
