PROF. DR. MİKDAT KADIOĞLU: THE OCCUPANCY RATE OF DAMS IS THE LOWEST AT THE MOMENT
Professor Dr. Mikdat Kadıoğlu said, "We go to an arid climate. Less snow and less winter. Winter and snow drought are two important dangers. So we need to change our lifestyle."
The occupancy rate of dams is the lowest in the last 10 years. Istanbul Technical University (ITU), Faculty of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Department of Meteorological Engineering lecturer Dr. Mikdat Kadıoğlu made a statement and said, "We are going to an arid climate. Less snowfall and less winter. Winter and snow drought two important danger. So we need to change our lifestyle."
The occupancy of Istanbul's dams is now at the lowest level of the last 10 years with 35.6 percent.
The lowest occupancy which was previously measured in the 10-year period, was 37.33 percent on the same date of 2016. Again, the highest occupancy rate in the 10-year period was 70.57 percent.
WE ARE GOING TO A DRIED CLIMATE...
Kadıoğlu also noted, "A dry climate is waiting for us in the future. The wasting of excess water is already a sin in our religion, that is, we are putting a big burden on this world. Given the burden, our damage to the nature is huge. So we started a slightly arid climate in Istanbul this year but we are already going to a dry climate in the future. Less snowfall and less winter. Winter and snow drought are two important dangers. So we need to change our lifestyle."
