DR. BARBAROS ÇETİNEL: TURKEY RANKS FOURTH IN TERMS OF USING PESTICIDE IN EUROPE

Within the scope of “Thursday Seminars" organized by Ege University Environmental Problems Application and Research Center (ÇEVMER), "Measures Taken in Licensing Plant Protection Products for Sustainable Environmental Health" seminar was held.

The event was organized in ÇEVMER Seminar Hall where academicians and graduate students were informed about various subjects.

Dr. Barbaros Çetinel, who gave the seminar, said that they work in various areas such as plant diseases and pests, combating the determination of population levels and the most effective methods of economic control. Stating that in this fight against the most common harmful agents used to provide information about pesticides, Çetinel unveiled, "About 50 to 60 thousand tons pestisist used in Turkey. Turkey ranks fourth after Spain, France and Italy in terms of using amount of pesticide."

Çetinel also explained how the use of plant protection products is licensed by various conventions. "As the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, we have changed our own regulations, regulations, protocols and perspectives to be applied.
