NİHAT UYSALLI: NO NEED TO PANIC, WE HAVE PLENTY OF PASTA PRODUCTS

Pasta Producers and Industrialists Association (MÜSAD) Chairman Nihat Uysallı announced that there is no problem in the production of products such as pasta, bulgur and flour and that citizens should not be alarmed. Nobody should try to do opportunism. We expect everyone to be sensitive."

In a statement he made, Uysallı reacted to the increase in the price of some products, especially pasta, in the shadow of the new type of coronavirus (Kovid-19) epidemic.

Stating that people were anxious with the increase of exorbitant price on a website yesterday in pasta, Uysallı said, "We immediately warned this e-commerce site, they raised that price, but those who saw the price panicked. This is a moral issue."

We have plenty of products, no need to panic!

Uysallı pointed out that the most intense debate is about pasta price, "There is absolutely no problem in pasta, bulgur, flour production. We even have more capacity in pasta production. Therefore, there is no need for panic. Our people have made unnecessary rush. Nobody wonder, sales points will be refilled quickly and this problem will be resolved within 1-2 days," he noted.

Emphasizing that there is no change in prices as a pasta producer, Uysallı concluded:

"We did not make any increase in the price of the pasta that we put on the market. The prices are the same as a month ago. Nobody try to do opportunism. We expect everyone to be sensitive. We get prices from thousands of points every day to control the market. There was no increase in these sales points yesterday. Prices are exactly the same a month before. "
