"Fishery exports are increasing every year"
DKİB Chairman of the Board Saffet Kalyoncu, in a statement to the AA (Anatolian Agency) reporter, said that the export of seafood has shown an important breakthrough in recent years and has been increasing every year.
Pointing out that the Black Sea salmon has reached a significant volume in the export from the Eastern Black Sea, Kalyoncu said, "We are expecting a great amount of exports from the region, especially to the Russian Federation and we are hopeful that the exports will reach higher figures in the coming period because of the quality and taste of the exported products."
Kalyoncu also stated that the transportation costs from the region to the Far East countries, especially Japan and Vietnam, are very important factors in terms of competitiveness, so that the Covid-19 pandemic is brought under control and accordingly the markets return to their normal levels. He added that they would make attempts before the competent authorities to make discounts on aircraft transportation charges.
