ÇAYKUR Deputy General Director Yusuf Ziya Alim said that in Artvin, Rize, Trabzon and Giresun approximately 204 thousand families deal with tea farming and the end of campaign began on May 10 is approaching.

Pointing out that ÇAYKUR has purchased 288 thousand 100 tons of fresh tea in the first shoot, 267 thousand 245 tons of tea in the second shoot, Yusuf Ziya Alim said, "Fresh tea purchasing campaign started on 28th of August still continues in the third shoot 400 kilograms per decare and we passed over 166 thousand tons."

Alim, attracting attention to the highly efficient tea season, in terms of social responsibility of ÇAYKUR, they specified the quota 500 in the first shoot, 400 kilograms in the second and third shoot per decare.

Stating that ÇAYKUR reached the highest tea purchase figure with 800 thousand 143 tons in 1999, Alim noted that they realized the second highest purchase in history with 732 thousand 500 tons in 2018 and that this year the purchases with the same determination continued.
