LÜTFİ BAYRAKTAR: WE WILL PURCHASE HAZELNUTS ON BEHALF OF TMO

Hazelnut Agricultural Sales Cooperatives Union (FİSKOBİRLİK) Chairman Lütfi Bayraktar declared that a short while ago he met with the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Bekir Pakdemirli and said they could get hazelnuts on behalf of TMO (Turkish Grain Board).

Bayraktar stated that the meeting was concluded and the protocol was signed with the relevant institutions on the subject, "As a result of the negotiations we have made, we will start purchasing hazelnuts from the producer to be transferred to the same institution from Monday to September 9" he added.

Bayraktar also noted that they would get hazelnuts on behalf of TMO within a certain quota and said, "We will transfer the product we receive every week to TMO. This situation is seen as an extra solution that will prevent the producer from selling hazelnuts under free market conditions."

Bayraktar pointed out that in all cooperatives affiliated to FİSKOBİRLİK, they will buy hazelnuts on behalf of TMO starting from 9 September.

Emphasizing that FİSKOBİRLİK continued the purchase of hazelnuts, he concluded, "Producers' interest in FISKOBİRLİK is increasing. This situation is quite pleasing. We want that our farmers to support FİSKOBİRLİK."
