NECDET SİN: EXPORTS OF FRESH FRUITS AND VEGETABLES AMOUNT TO 512 MILLION DOLLARS


Mediterranean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters' Association Chairman Necdet Sin, in his written statement, said that Turkey's fresh fruit and vegetable exports in August was 110 million dollars...

Sin specifed that 70 percent of the value of fresh fruit in the first place in the exports, 28 percent of the share of fresh vegetables in the second place.

Sin pointed out that in August, the most exported product was grapes, followed by figs, tomatoes and peaches, respectively, besides only grape exports of 29 million dollars in foreign exchange yield.

"In August, the most exports were made to Russia, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Ukraine followed this country," Sin noted.

Referring to the export figures of the Mediterranean region, Sin also stated, "In the first 8 months of the year through Mediterranean Fresh Fruits and Vegetables Exporters' Association, amount of the value of fresh fruit and vegetable exports reached to 512 million dollars. Citrus exports were recorded as 204 million dollars with a share of 80 percent."

Emphasizing that the export season of the Mayer, which is the earliest breed of lemon, "We wish to all producers, exporters and other stakeholder institutions to have a nice season," he concluded...
