POSOF-ADELE APPLE REGISTERED AS A NEW VARIETY OF ARDAHAN...

The apple which is grown in Posof district of Ardahan province attracts attention because of its redness both inside and outside, was registered as a geographical indicate by Turkish Patent and Trademark Authority.

Around the city, in recent years, works which have been carried out in order to increase the production of this apple species for 2.5 years ago, registration studies started to give positive results.

As a result of the work carried out by Posof Municipality and Ardahan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the fruit was registered as "Posof-Badele Apple".

Ardahan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman Çetin Demirci said that they felt happiness because of registration the third product after 'Ardahan Damal Doll' and 'Flower honey'.

Stating that they want to register all products belonging to Ardahan, Demirci added, "Our registered apple will be an important gain gate for our region. We want to register our own products on behalf of our geography."
