Despite the coronavirus outbreak in Konya, the granary of Turkey, which continues in production agriculture. Stating that the farmers continue to work in the field, Karatay District Chamber of Agriculture President Rıfat Kavuneker said, "Don't panic, we will not leave your table empty. We are in the fields."

But no matter how much we and the Government take measures, everyone should take their own precaution. Currently quarantine is implemented nearby towns and villages and these are mostly production centres in Turkey. Hopefully these diseases will come and go. However, agriculture does not waste time. Currently, planting of vegetables has started in the fields and greenhouses. If the day of this is passed, we may not find vegetables on the field after 1 to 1.5 months. Therefore everything is necessary in the season in agriculture. We and our managers take our precautions. Seasonal workers will come to the region, agricultural workers will come. Our farmers who produce in agriculture are working in the field right now. We thank to God, there is no restriction at the moment."
"Production will continue"
Indicating that farmers and agricultural workers should act in accordance with all rules in order to combat the epidemic, Kavuneker added, “Agricultural workers will come from Şanlıurfa province and other regions. They will comply with the travel rules while coming. Places where they will work and stay in the field are controlled, we have taken our precautions. We will continue production and I hope all the farmers will continue production too. Our request from our citizens, who do not stay in the villages, should not go to the villages. They should not carry the disease to those regions."
