TARIK TEZEL: CONSUMERS WILL NOT REMAIN WITHOUT DAIRY PRODUCTS THANKS TO SETBİR MEMBERS


Turkey Milk, Meat, Food Industrialists and Producers' Association (SETBİR) Chairman Tarık Tezel said that while Turkish agricultural production processed through right hands and reach to consumers, due to misinformation manufacturers-retailers and the industrialists have been confronted.

Emphasizing a 'value chain' at this point, Tezel said, “If there is no producer at first, we will not have this value chain in food. We need to look at our basic system, such as crop production and animal husbandry with utmost precision. Damage to the smallest part of the chain would be a big problem for all of us. If we organize this value chain well, if we provide the necessary functions of the producers cooperatives and we can produce a production focused on quality and efficiency, then the answers of the expressions of 'the producer produces cheap, the consumer eats expensive, so the middleman wins' will be spontaneously met."

Stating that small businesses cannot cope with the costs per unit, Tarık Tezel underlined that by creating a scale economy, this can be optimized with the right planning.
